On Remembrance Sunday we held our usual Act of Remembrance at the war memorial in the churchyard. Wreaths were laid on behalf of the congregation, Aberlour Childcare Trust, the Banffshire Lieutenancy and the Scouts. The Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, Andrew Simpson, read aloud the names of all the fallen commemorated on the memorial (see picture below). The service was led by Rev Ian Sykes and Alistair Grant played the Last Post and Reveille. The memorial commemorates the former residents of the Aberlour Orphanage who fell in the two world wars of the 20th century.
