On Saturday 16th December the Lantern Singers gave a wonderful concert of Christmas music in the church to a large audience. The programme included early music and modern and finished with Vaughan Williams 'Fantasia on Christmas Carols'. Before the interval Tembu Rongong, the new leader of the group, invited members of the audience to come and join in with singing a part of Handel's 'Messiah'. Quite a few people went up and swelled the choir numbers for this which was fantastic. There was also the chance for the audience to join in with singing well known and loved carols. The music, and the mince pies and mulled wine, got everyone in the Christmas spirit.
